Created as a rolling background for Callsights’ booth at Commsverse 2023, this video has no audio.
Meant to briefly demonstrate the general capabilities of the product, it uses the technique of recreating the product’s UI in Illustrator so it can be animated in After Effects with complete control and immaculate image fidelity when panning and scanning.
My favourite part of the video project was animating the Lego minifig at the end. This tied in with the giveaway (swag) offered by Callsights at the show – a free custom genuine Lego minifig. The minifig in the video was animated and rendered in Blender.
I was also asked to source the required Lego pieces and be present for two days at the show to assemble the minifig giveaways.
Fun fact: I genuinely did not stop giving away custom Lego minifigs for more than two minutes over the entire two days present at the show. The venue staff even queued at the end of day two to get their own custom minifig. One member of staff at Mercedes World even said (excuse his French) “this is the best [effing] giveaway we’ve ever had here!”. We were still giving away minifigs as the booth was being packed away around me at the end of day two. A wonderful experience.
